Baseball Recap: Winamac Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

The Winamac Warriors earned a 10-6 win over the South Central Satellites on Tuesday.

Cody Wheeler made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten contests.

In other batting news, Hutch Martin was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last nine matchups. Another player making a difference was Xavier Adriano, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Winamac is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for South Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Winamac will head out on the road to square off against Triton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for South Central, they will welcome Hebron at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
