Bishop Rosecrans has gone 8-1 against Miller recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bishops will head out on the road to face off against the Falcons at 5:15 p.m. Bishop Rosecrans is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Bishop Rosecrans after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Maysville by a score of 4-2. The Bishops' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Bishop Rosecrans saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coen Grandstaff, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Miller). They blew past Harvest Prep 22-4 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won three games in a row.
Bodey Dorsey and Ryley Post made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Dorsey pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Post pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Dorsey got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Post went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. Miller is undefeated when Dorsey posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Bryce Dorsey was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Doughty, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Miller kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Bishop Rosecrans' loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Miller, their record now sits at 9-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bishop Rosecrans has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Miller struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bishop Rosecrans was able to grind out a solid win over Miller in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 8-5. Do the Bishops have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
