This season hasn't been kind to the Freedom Patriots, who are still winless after their 15th game. They were beaten by Riverview 56-19 on Friday. Freedom has struggled against Riverview recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Emma Schroeder was Freedom's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Riverview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayaunna Dean out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Dean hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Kaylee Dominguez was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with three steals.
Freedom's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.8 points per game. As for Riverview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.
Freedom will be playing in front of their home fans against East Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Riverview on the road again on Tuesday and play against Chamberlain at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
