Anderson extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. Everything went their way against the College Station Cougars as they made off with a 37-14 win. Fans of the Trojans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Caleb Crenshaw had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 228 yards and three scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 98 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cove Darbyshire, who threw for 178 yards and one touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Anderson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. Zach Cecalek refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Liam McMillian was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).
As for College Station, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.0 points over those games.
Despite the loss, College Station still got an impressive performance from Keaton Johnson, who rushed for 69 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Kody Ballard also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.
Coincidentally, Anderson and College Station will both be playing A&M Consolidated the next time they take the field. The Cougars will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Trojans will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
