The Manor Mustangs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Granby Comets at 7:00 p.m. Manor is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Manor fell victim to Booker T. Washington's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Mighty Bookers, falling 36-0. Manor was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Even if they lost, Manor's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jalon Key and Omarion Stevenson who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Granby made off with a 13-12 victory over Norcom.
Manor's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Maury (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.5% over those games). As for Granby, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Everything went Manor's way against Granby when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as Manor made off with a 20-0 win. Will Manor repeat their success, or does Granby have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
