If The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls were feeling good off their 32-10 takedown of the Avon Park Red Devils last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. LaBelle took a 34-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indian Rocks Christian on Friday.
Despite the loss, LaBelle still got an impressive performance from Isaac Santamaria, who rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Santamaria was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sincere Bradford, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Indian Rocks Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anderson Dumm out in front who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Keatin Emener, who threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
LaBelle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-3.
LaBelle will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on North Port at 12:00 p.m. on November 11th. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Tarpon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tarpon Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Indian Rocks Christian likes a good challenge.
