The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Falcons are on the road again on Friday and plays the Apponequet Regional Lakers at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Dighton-Rehoboth Regional was the victim of a rough 63-40 defeat at the hands of Old Rochester Regional. While losing is never fun, Dighton-Rehoboth Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Old Rochester Regional is ranked 29th).
Apponequet Regional has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 82-69 to Somerset Berkley Regional on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (62), Apponequet Regional still had to take the loss.
Dighton-Rehoboth Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Apponequet Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Things could have been worse for Dighton-Rehoboth Regional, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-45 loss to Apponequet Regional in their previous matchup back in January. Can Dighton-Rehoboth Regional avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
