Bolivar-Richburg has gone 8-2 against Fillmore recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Wolverines will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Bolivar-Richburg is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Things were looking good for Bolivar-Richburg after they put the first runs on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-5 to Franklinville, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Sommer Beckwith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Cassidy Stives made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Teegan Sibble, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Fillmore posted their closest win since April 30, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Franklinville. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Fillmore also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Mylee Miller gave up only one earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Morghyn Ross was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Tenlee Miller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
Bolivar-Richburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Fillmore, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Bolivar-Richburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Fillmore in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
