The Simeon Wolverines struggled with assists on Wednesday (the L Lane Tech had 1800% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Simeon was beaten by L 60-22. Simeon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-8.
Despite the loss, Simeon still got an impressive performance from Dijiona Berrien, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 blocks.
L's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Melanie Blanco led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 5 assists. The contest was Blanco's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Bush, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Simeon's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for L, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.
Simeon will head out on the road to face off against Perspectives Leadership/Technology at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. L won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Orr at 5:00 p.m. on November 30th. Hopefully Orr focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Saturday.
