The Southside Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Fountain Inn Fury at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southside has given up an average of 17.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Southside headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Carolina Academy let them put that streak behind them. The Tigers walked away with a 33-28 win over the Trojans on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Southside let Treasure Williams and Katie Carter run wild. Williams went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, five RBI, and two doubles, while Carter got on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, five stolen bases, and three runs. Those five runs gave Williams a new career-high. Icely Santamaria was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and five runs.
Southside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .640. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Westside hit Fountain Inn with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Fury took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Fury have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Zoey Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Payton Herring, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-11. As for Fountain Inn, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Southside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .595. However, it's not like Fountain Inn struggles in that department as they've averaged .481. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Southside suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Fountain Inn in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
