The South Hills Scorpions can finally bid farewell to their 17-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Monahans out 34-31. The victory was just what South Hills needed coming off of a 44-19 defeat in their prior contest.
South Hills was led to victory by Jocelyn Rockingham and Lili Hernandez. Rockingham scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals, while Hernandez scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds. Hernandez has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.
South Hills' victory bumped their record up to 2-18. As for Monahans, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
South Hills will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Arlington Heights at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. The timing is sure in Arlington Heights' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while South Hills has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Monahans will be home for the holidays to greet Midland at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
