Germantown is 0-9 against Arlington since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Germantown Red Devils will head out on the road to take on the Arlington Tigers at 6:00 p.m.
On Saturday, Germantown took a serious blow against Whitehaven, falling 84-10. While losing is never fun, Germantown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Whitehaven is ranked 39th).
Meanwhile, Arlington humbled Cordova with a 59-25 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Arlington has managed all season.
Arlington relied on the efforts of Zaria Moss, who scored 22 points along with two steals, and Taylor Miller, who scored 14 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Jordan Wirt was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Germantown and nudges their season record down to 11-16. As for Arlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.
Germantown suffered a grim 52-29 defeat to Arlington when the teams last played on Tuesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moss, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals.
