The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sunlake, who took down 213th ranked Sunlake, 14-10. Ra'shaad Hart threw for 47 yards and ran for 142 yards in the win.
Hernando moved up to 202 from 231 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 6. The Leopards climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Seahawks 14-10.
Matthew Breida was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 170 yards on 26 carries as Nature Coast Tech lost to Springstead. Teammate Dylan Savoury added to the ground attack by rushing for seven yards.
Tyler Mahla put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles beat the Knights /Royal. He finished with a total of 10 completions for 96 yards and one touchdown. Mahla's favorite target this week was Tyler Anderson, who caught one pass for 22 yards.
Cordova was the best wideout in the league this week as River Ridge lost to Springstead. Cordova racked up five receptions for 69 yards. Justin Haystrand helped River Ridge's passing attack out by catching one ball for 19 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Mahla of Bill Vonada's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 623. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, the Sharks' Breida has rushed for 1056 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jonathan Thomas. The Nature Coast Tech star has 20 catches for 264 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hernando takes on the Eagles. At the moment, Dwayne Mobley's team is in fifth, while Springstead is in first.
The Eagles extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ryan Benjamin's team, 21-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for Springstead.
