Baseball Recap: Simpson Academy Takes a Loss

Simpson Academy lost to Hartfield Academy back in May of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kolt Walker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. He has become a key player for Simpson Academy: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Jaydee Lane was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Simpson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Hartfield Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-4-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

While Simpson Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
