Even though The City School Lions scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, the Solebury Spartans still came out on top. Solebury took their contest against The City School 66-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Solebury.
Solebury's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makhai Anderson, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Simpson, who scored 18 points.
Solebury now has a winning record of 9-8. As for The City School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Solebury will face off against Friends' Central at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Friends' Central will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. The City School won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cristo Rey Philadelphia at 12:00 p.m. on January 21st. Cristo Rey Philadelphia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 412 points over their last six matches.
