St. John's took down The Awty International 78-62 on Friday. Given St. John's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while The Awty International is ranked 761st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading St. John's to victory were Teo Nelson and Malachi Booker. Nelson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Booker scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Booker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Izaan Mohammad, who scored 11 points.
St. John's has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for The Awty International, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
St. John's will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Houston HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. Houston HomeSchool has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for The Awty International, they will head out on the road to face off against Kinkaid at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kinkaid will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
