Given Pittsburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Labette County is ranked 270th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Labette County still got an impressive performance from Hudson Baker, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Baker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Zavier Phillips was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
The win makes it two in a row for Pittsburg and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Labette County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Pittsburg will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Parsons at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Parsons will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Labette County will take on Sabetha at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sabetha will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
