The Vista Grande Spartans came tearing into Wednesday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Dysart with points to spare, taking the game 55-40. This was payback for Vista Grande, who suffered a 53-45 loss the last time these two teams met.
Vista Grande was led to victory by Kyla Palmer and Stefanie Trantham. Palmer almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Trantham dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Trantham hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games.
Several Demons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lieyla Albino, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Albino is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played.
Vista Grande has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Dysart, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-9.
Vista Grande does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dysart, they will head out on the road to face off against Cactus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cactus has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
