Even though New Dimensions has not done well against Liberty recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. New Dimensions got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Martinez out in front who scored 20 points. Martinez is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Blake Ferrante was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Poinciana stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 72-18 victory over Mater Brighton Lakes Academy. Given Poinciana's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Mater Brighton Lakes Academy is ranked 677th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
New Dimensions' victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Poinciana, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.
New Dimensions was taken down by Poinciana 75-35 in their previous matchup back in February of 2021. Can New Dimensions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
