Basketball Recap: Billingsley Piles Up the Points Against Isabella

Billingsley won the last time they faced Isabella and things went their way on Friday too. The Billingsley Bears breezed by the Isabella Mustangs to the tune of 46-12. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 29 points or more this season.

Leading Billingsley to victory were Alana Jones and Derrica Motley. Jones dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards, while Motley posted 12 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Jones has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 37 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Shelby Boice, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Billingsley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Billingsley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.1 points per game. As for Isabella, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Billingsley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 31-27 win against Autaugaville on the 6th. As for Isabella, they will take on Chilton County in a tournament on Tuesday. Isabella is facing Chilton County at the right time seeing as Chilton County is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
