It's playoff time, and Grayslake North had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lakes Eagles  a   10-0 shutout  on Friday. Considering the Knights have won 12 contests by more than five  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Riley O'Brien made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than nine  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  triple and two  RBI.
 In other batting news, Grayslake North got a  massive  performance out of  Brena Dalton, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  Dalton has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was  Jane Pritchard, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  RBI and two  runs.
 Grayslake North was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .500. They are 13-2 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Grayslake North has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lakes, their loss was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 12-13.
As of now, neither Grayslake North nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
