The Live Oak Acorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Monte Vista Christian  63-59. While losing is never fun, Live Oak can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings  (they are ranked 1158th, while Monte Vista Christian is ranked 441st).
 Despite the loss, Live Oak still got an impressive performance from   Austin Jennings, who  scored 25 points along with eight  rebounds. The  contest was  Jennings' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nathan Lozano, who  scored nine points along with seven  rebounds and three  steals.
  Bryce Brogan was  his usual excellent self,  scoring 24 points for Monte Vista Christian. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him.  Jack Ryan was another key contributor,  scoring six points along with seven  rebounds.
 Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Monte Vista Christian,  the  win  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 7-2.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Live Oak is on the road again  on Friday and play against James Lick at 7:00  p.m.  on December 15th. James Lick comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Monte Vista Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Stevenson at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
