Basketball Recap: Olivia Mckinney Key Part of a Team Effort in Patriots Win

J.L. Mann won the last time they faced Greenwood and things went their way on Monday too. The J.L. Mann Patriots snuck past the Greenwood Eagles with a 50-46 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

J.L. Mann's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia McKinney, who went 5 of 12 en route to 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals. McKinney is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Breah Franks was another key player, going 6 for 11 on her way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Greenwood's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tykirea Johnson, who posted 22 points and six boards, and Danielle Oliver, who put up 17 points.

J.L. Mann has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 29.2% in those games and 20.5% outside of them. As for Greenwood, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6.

J.L. Mann wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-28 victory against Hillcrest on the 28th. Greenwood has also already played their next match, a 48-41 defeat against Greenville on the 28th.
