The Yorktown Patriots lost against the Wakefield Warriors back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Yorktown fell 60-48 to Wakefield. Yorktown has not had much luck with Wakefield recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Yorktown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Roosa, who scored eight points. Roosa set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Andrew Maria was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Yorktown's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for Wakefield, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yorktown will take on McLean at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McLean is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Wakefield, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Langley at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
