Marian Catholic won the last time they faced the Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES, and things went their way on Friday too. Marian Catholic secured a 56-52 W over Mount Carmel. Given Marian Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Mount Carmel is ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jacob Miller was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven assists and five steals. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of James Rodino, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Marian Catholic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Mount Carmel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marian Catholic will square off against Lincoln Leadership Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lincoln Leadership Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Mount Carmel, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern Columbia Area at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
