Basketball Recap: Vision Skates Past Gem State Adventist Academy with Ease

Vision won the last time they faced Gem State Adventist Academy and things went their way on Monday too. Vision couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 58-17 blowout they got against the Gem State Adventist Academy Jaguars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Vision has posted since November 15, 2024.

Leading Vision to victory were Raelynn Nickel and Aubrie Parrish. Nickel dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten assists, and 14 steals, while Parrish dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 boards. Nickel has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 26 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaely Vollmer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Vision smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Ava Miler and Holli Kirschbaum certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Miler posted six points, while Kirschbaum put up five points.

Vision's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Gem State Adventist Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Vision will venture away from home to square off against North Star at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gem State Adventist Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Riverstone International at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
