Western Tech & Environmental Science has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Carver A&T Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-36, which was the final score in Western Tech & Environmental Science's tilt against the last Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Western Tech & Environmental Science can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the are ranked 48th).
Meanwhile, Carver A&T lost to the Comets at home by a decisive 47-31 margin on Wednesday.
Despite the loss, Carver A&T saw an underclassman step up: Elisah Guity scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Carrington, who scored eight points.
Western Tech & Environmental Science has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Carver A&T, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Western Tech & Environmental Science strolled past the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 by a score of 54-39. Does Western Tech & Environmental Science have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
