The Miami Stingarees scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 79-36 win over Lourdes Academy. Miami has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 29 points or more this season.
Despite the loss, Lourdes Academy saw an underclassman step up: Sophia Sandoval scored 18 points. Sophie Llevat was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Lourdes Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The win (which was Miami's sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Lourdes Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-4.
Miami does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lourdes Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Westminster Christian at 7:30 p.m. Westminster Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Lourdes Academy is ranked 111th).
