It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lutcher Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-12 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for Lutcher, who have now won six matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Quinn Smith was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 11 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 191 yards and a touchdown while completing 81.8% of his passes.
The victory (which was Lutcher's third in a row) raised their record to 8-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40 points. As for Abbeville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Lutcher will look to defend their home field on Friday against Opelousas at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Opelousas: 13.2, Lutcher: 5.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Abbeville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
