Holy Family is a perfect 10-0 against Skyline since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Skyline will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Holy Family extended their winning streak to six on Saturday. The Tigers never let Frederick get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Austin Mireiter's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Holy Family let Kaden Hopkin and Isaiah Sandoval run wild. Hopkin went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Sandoval went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Sandoval a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dustin Bennett, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Skyline can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. Everything went their way against Adams City as they made off with a 14-4 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Matt Lanier made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Lanier was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Skyline's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 4-12-1 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Bobby Knapp was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Skyline: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-12-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Rickman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Skyline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adams City only posted an OBP of .364.
Holy Family pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13-1.
Holy Family's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Skyline, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Holy Family continue to outrun the ball?
Holy Family beat Skyline 5-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
