Basketball Recap: Cape Cod Academy Snaps 12-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cape Cod Academy). They took their match on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 75-38 victory over the Sturgis West Navigators. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-11.

Cape Cod Academy was led to victory by Harrison Lauf and Mike Berry. Lauf went 7 for 13 on his way to 23 points, while Berry almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Jatczak, who posted six points and three steals.

Cape Cod Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cape Cod Academy's win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3. As for Sturgis West, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cape Cod Academy will face off against Barnstable at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Barnstable has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three contests. As for Sturgis West, they will challenge Calvary Chapel Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
