The Kimball Longhorns can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 53-3 blowout they got at home against Banner County. Kimball's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Kimball found their leader in underclassman Addy Olson, who scored 21 points along with five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Olson has scored at least 25% of Kimball's points. Another player making a difference was Grace Anderson, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Banner County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Kimball pulled down 16 offensive rebounds.
Kimball's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Banner County, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10.
Kimball won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chase County on January 6th. Banner County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against South Platte on January 12th.
