Artesia has gone a perfect 10-0 against Oxford Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pioneers will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 3:15 p.m. Artesia has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Last Friday, Artesia came up short against Pioneer and fell 12-8.

Kaleyse Foster was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adela Saucedo, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Oxford Academy was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out Whitney 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted against the Wildcats since April 1, 2022.
Emily Ganguly made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Ganguly was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).
Ganguly wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Daniela Perez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was Ava Pitts, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Oxford Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Artesia, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Artesia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. However, it's not like Oxford Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .389. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Artesia took their victory against Oxford Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-4 score. Will the Pioneers repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
