The North Henderson Knights had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 45-44 photo finish over Tuscola. The victory was just what North Henderson needed coming off of a 61-30 loss in their prior contest.
North Henderson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Peyton Taylor led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailee Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Tuscola saw an underclassman step up: Kendall Williamson scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Williamson grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Julia Wells, who scored seven points along with three steals.
North Henderson's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-17. As for Tuscola, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
North Henderson will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Franklin is coming into the match with four straight losses at home, so North Henderson is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Tuscola will take on East Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully East Henderson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Friday.
