The River Ridge Wildcats were handed a two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against the West Carroll Thunder on Monday. River Ridge really took it to West Carroll for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-12 win on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win River Ridge has managed all season.
River Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Smith, who scored eight points along with six assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Dittmar, who scored 11 points.
River Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for West Carroll, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next match is against East Dubuque at 7:30 a.m. on January 30th. East Dubuque will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for West Carroll, they will head out on the road to take on Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
