The Amherst Bulldogs lost against the Whitharral Panthers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Amherst was beaten by Whitharral 63-22. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amherst in their matchups with Whitharral: they've now lost six in a row.
Whitharral found their leader in underclassman Nathaniel Sansom, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. The matchup was Sansom's third in a row with at least ten points. Landon Lee was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
Amherst now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Whitharral, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amherst will take on Post at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Post is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Whitharral, they will head out on the road to face off against Bovina at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bovina comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
