Even though the Alcovy Tigers scored an imposing 66 points on Tuesday, the Mundy's Mill Tigers still came out on top. Mundy's Mill managed a 72-66 win over Alcovy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mundy's Mill.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mundy's Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fred Umeano, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dajuan Riddle, who scored 21 points.
Mundy's Mill pushed their record up to 8-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Alcovy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mundy's Mill will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lovejoy at 3:30 p.m. on January 13th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Demarco Davis and Riddle. As for Alcovy, they will head out on the road to challenge Mundy's Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
