Volleyball Recap: Academy at Palumbo Wins Going Away Against George Washington

Academy at Palumbo lost to George Washington back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Griffin blew past the Eagles 3-0. The game was the first time the Griffin have beaten the Eagles on their court since April 13, 2023.

While Academy at Palumbo might've won, it sure wasn't easy: George Washington scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Jonas Milson, who had six digs and five aces. Those five aces gave him a new career-high. Wesley Guo also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Milson wasn't the only good server: Academy at Palumbo was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The win got Academy at Palumbo back to even at 4-4. As for George Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Academy at Palumbo will square off against Lansdale Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for George Washington, they will take on Carver High School of Engineering & Science at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
