The North Star Cougars will face off against the Windber Ramblers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Star is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Windber will be up against a hot North Star squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Cougars came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against Blacklick Valley. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bryson Durst was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Noah Holcomb was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for North Star: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Noah Lasky was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
North Star was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Windber). They put the hurt on Rockwood with a sharp 19-12 win on Monday. Considering the Ramblers have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Windber got a massive performance out of Logan Serenko, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Cole Mash, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.
The victory got North Star back to even at 3-3. As for Windber, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Star has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Windber struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
North Star couldn't quite get it done against Windber in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 10-5. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
