Baseball Recap: Cache Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cache came out on top against Purcell on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Bulldogs walked away with a 6-3 win over the Dragons. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jett Pineda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Cache saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reed Gillispie, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits Gillispie has posted since back in March.

Cache's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Purcell, they moved to 19-12 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Cache will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
