Volleyball Recap: Clear Lake Beats Copperas Cove for Their Third Straight Win

Clear Lake waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs.

Clear Lake easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-8.

Their offense was headlined by Colleen Phelps and Morgan Regner, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Peyton Aldridge and her 11 assists. Phelps was also a major player on defense: she and Selah Frankovich shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Clear Lake's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Copperas Cove, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

Clear Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Magnolia West on the 29th. As for Copperas Cove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Chaparral on the 29th.
