The Wooster Colts will head out on the road to challenge the Dayton Dust Devils at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Wooster is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Wooster will bounce into Friday's game after beating Truckee, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Colts walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Wolverines on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.

Edgar Nunez Montano was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Wooster is undefeated when Nunez Montano posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowan Andersen, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Wooster hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Dayton and Sparks meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Dust Devils blew past the Railroaders 18-2. Considering the Dust Devils have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Michael Reitman looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
Wooster now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Dayton, their record now sits at 10-3.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wooster hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like Dayton struggles in that department as they've averaged .389. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wooster came out on top in a nail-biter against Dayton when the teams last played back in March of 2025, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
