Adding to the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley - Ohio this week, Athens beat Vinton County 48-12. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Athens led the league in scoring this week by notching 48 points on the Vikings. Joey Burrow threw for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 74 yards in the win.
Ryan Adams' team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Trae Williams contributed 188 yards. Ryan Luehrman helped Athens' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 33 yards.
Williams was a passing and rushing force as the Bulldogs bested Vinton County. Williams' key target this week was Heath Wiseman, who caught 5 passes for 46 yards.
Wiseman was the best wideout in the league this week as Athens beat the Vikings. Wiseman tallied 5 receptions for 46 yards. Luehrman helped Athens' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 33 yards.
Athens' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Burrow has thrown for 2,153 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, while Luehrman has 28 catches for 690 yards.
The top two teams in Tri-Valley - Ohio will face off this week when first place Athens takes on second place Meigs.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Bulldogs take on Meigs. Athens has allowed 106 points this season, while the Marauders have given up 151. The Bulldogs allowed 12 points last week as they defeated Vinton County.
Meigs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,526 from 5,038. The improvement was largely due to a 40-7 victory over Wellston last week.
