Shelton had a senior duo take command as Ashton Simmons scored 26 points along with 5 steals and Riley Bombeck scored 16 points along with 9 assists and 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Simmons has scored at least 25% of Shelton's points. Another player making a difference was Luke Gillming, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Shelton and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Shelton will be playing in front of their home fans against Pleasanton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasanton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Shelton is ranked ninth). As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against Harvard at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
