Brownfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Stanton Buffaloes with a sharp 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cubs, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brownfield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Stanton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Brownfield will take on Coahoma at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Stanton, they will square off against Denver City at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
