The Calhoun Academy Cavaliers won the last time they faced the Dorchester Academy Raiders, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Calhoun Academy walked away with a 53-44 victory over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back wins for Calhoun Academy.
Calhoun Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Strickland, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Strickland is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Layton, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and four steals.
Calhoun Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-8. As for Dorchester Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun Academy will face off against the Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dorchester Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Patrick Henry Academy will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
