Lakeside is 1-9 against Edgewood since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Lakeside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyla Hamilton, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Edgewood waltzed into their contest on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since March 31st.
Lucianna Paolillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Faith Vencill was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Addison Lamson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Edgewood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in nine consecutive games.
Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Edgewood, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
