The biggest upset of the week belonged to Kerens, who took down 748th ranked Kerens, 33-30.
Gateway Charter Academy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in 1A-1 Region II District 6. The Gators defeated Cross Roads 42-21 earlier in the week.
Gateway Charter Academy's dynamic duo of Michael Jimmerson and Devonte Williams proved tough for the Bobcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jimmerson threw for 81 yards and one touchdown and Williams had 34 yards receiving.
Ryheem Walker was the most productive running back in the league this week. In eight carries, he ran for 213 yards as Italy defeated Cross Roads.
5-foot-11 quarterback Jimmerson of the Gators is the league leader in passing yards this season with 543. He has also thrown four touchdowns. On the ground, the Gladiators' Walker has rushed for 897 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Trevon Robertson. The Italy star has 21 catches for 247 yards.
A big matchup in 1A-1 Region II District 6 this week will be when Gateway Charter Academy takes on the Bobcats. The Gators are in second place, while Kerens is in fourth place.
Cayuga moved up to 756 from 820 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats were able to make the jump by defeating Mike Loveless' team 33-30.
