The American Heritage Stallions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 28-21 to North Broward Prep. American Heritage lost against North Broward Prep in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 44-10 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why American Heritage lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mason Kasten. Despite the final result, he threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Peyton Surtain was another key contributor, picking up 118 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Mason Chapman looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 342 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Tromon Isaac jr. did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
American Heritage's loss was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 3-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.7 points per game. As for North Broward Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
American Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Broward Prep will head out on the road to face off against American Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. American Heritage presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Broward Prep in Florida (American Heritage is ranked fifth, while North Broward Prep is ranked 344th).
