Armstrong (Kennedy) hasn't had much luck against Thomas Jefferson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Armstrong (Kennedy)'s favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last nine contests.
Armstrong (Kennedy) is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Nottoway to the tune of 49-8. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by 28 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Anthony Hansom, who threw for 270 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 59 yards and one TD. Zion Williams was in the mix as well, providing Armstrong (Kennedy) with two scores.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Armstrong (Kennedy)'s defense and their nine sacks. Ronald Jackson led the group effort, picking up three of those sacks all by himself. Aadyn Allen also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine. Armstrong (Kennedy) received some extra help from Devon Epps, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Armstrong (Kennedy), adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Isaiah Charity, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Thomas Jefferson, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past King William 42-8 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.
Armstrong (Kennedy) better keep an eye on Daeron Ferguson. He was instrumental in Thomas Jefferson's win, rushing for 131 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing yards Ferguson has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Joseph Robertson Jr, who rushed for 73 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Thomas Jefferson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in four consecutive contests.
Thomas Jefferson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Amare Gough.
Armstrong (Kennedy) pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points over those games. As for Thomas Jefferson, their record now sits at 7-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Armstrong (Kennedy) has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 187.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Thomas Jefferson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 208.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Armstrong (Kennedy) was able to grind out a solid victory over Thomas Jefferson in their previous meeting back in September, winning 21-14. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
